October 4-8

Dear Parents:                                                        

Our theme for this week is Nursery Rhymes. We will be reviewing and learning new rhymes such as: Humpty Dumpty, Mary Had a Little Lamb, Hey Diddle Diddle, Hickory Dickory Dock, Jack and Jill, I'm a Little Teapot, Jack Be Nimble, One, Two, Buckle My Shoe, Mary Mary Quite Contrary.

We will also be reviewing for our first quarter evaluation. Evaluations will take place next week.Please rember to review with your child at home 10-15 minutes a day.

The content to be evluated is listed below:

Math: Numbers 0-5

Your child should be able to:
  • Name and recognize the numbers.
  • Make sets for each number.
  • Know the number sequence.
  • Count objects.
Reading Readiness: Letters Aa-Ff

Your child should be able to:
  • Name and recognize the letters.
  • Produce letter sounds.
Language Development:

Your child should be able to name the vocabulary for the following themes:
My School: chair, table, lunchbox, bathroom, paint, pencil, scissors, crayon, glue, marker, folder, homework, bell, pencilbox, clock.
Body Parts: head, legs, feet, arms, fingers, eyes, nose, ears, mouth, hands, lips, toes, shoulders, chin, cheeks.
Family: mother, father, baby, brother, sister, grandmother, grandfather, uncle, aunt, cousins.

Writing Readiness:
Your child should be able to trace his/her first name.

Character Education: This month we are learning about Respect. Our goal is: "I listen to my teachers."

Important Information:
* Next Monday, October 11 is a holiday, there will bo no school.

September 27- October 1

Dear Parents:                                                    

This week we will cover the following:

Theme: Family

Concepts and skills: Letter Ff and number 5. Big/Little and In/Out. We are also practicing tracing our first names.

Vocabulary: mother, father, brother, sister, baby, grandfather, grandmother, aunt, uncle and cousin.

Character Education: Loyalty. Our goal is: "I am proud of my country."

Important Information:

* The Preschool Handbook states that children will be supervised beginning at 7:10 each morning.

* Please send the copy of the deposit slip with your child's name on it as soon as possible.

* Don't forget to send the family picture if you have not done so.

* There will be a Values Presentation for parents on Thursday, September 30, from 5:00-6:30. The title of the presentation is "Four Frames of Development in Pre-School Children" By: Lic. Roger Martinez and it will take place in the Elemetary Multipurpose Room. We really hope you can all come.

Dear Parents:

Concepts and skills:Letter Ee and number 4. Big/Little and In/Out. We are also practicing tracing our first names.

Vocabulary: mother, father, brother, sister, baby, grandmother, grandfather, aunt, uncle and cousin.

Character Education: Loyalty. Our goal is: "I am  proud of my country."

Important Information:

* Please send in a family picture that we can use in class if you have not done so.

* This Friday is colors day, the cost is 5Lps.

* Don't forget to send the copy of the deposit slip for the class celebrations, with your child's name on it, as soon as possible.

September 13-14

Dear Parents:
These two days we will cover the following:
Theme: Independence
Character Education: Loyalty. Our goal is: "I sing the National Anthem with respect."
Important Information:
* Our Independence Parade is tomorrow Tuesday at 8:00 sharp. You are all invited to join us in this important event. Remember that all students should wear their complete and every day uniform, no P.E. uniforms please.

* Progress Reports were sent home today. If your child got one, please sign it and return it to school by tomorrow.

* The Independence Holiday is Sept. 15-17, classes resume on Monday Sept. 20th.

* Please send in a family picture, that we can use in class, with your child to school.

* Don't forget to send the copy of the deposit slips with your child's name on it, as soon as possible.

Concepts and skills: Letter Dd and number 3. Big/Little and In/Out. We are also practicing tracing our first names.

Vocabulary: head, legs, feet, arms, fingers, eyes, nose, ears, mouth, hands, lips, toes, shoulder, chin, cheeks.

Character Education: Loyalty. Our goal is: "I sing the National Anthem with respect."

Important Information:

* You ere invited to a schoolwide presentation this Wednesday, September 8th from 5:00-6:30 in the Elementary Multipurpose Room. The title of the presentation is: "Familias con Proposito" by Marielos Quesada.

* Don't forget to send the copy of the deposit slip for the class celebrations, with your child´s name on it as soon as possible.

* Show and tell is every Tuesday, for the letter of the week.

* You are invited to our Independence Parade next Tuesday, September 14th at 8:00. All students should wear their regular uniform on this day. NO P.E. uniforms please.
