March 28- April 1 BOOK WEEK

Dear Parents:

This week we will cover the following:                        

Theme: The Farm

Concepts and skills: Letter Vv and sorting. More/less and over/under.

Vocabulary: farmer, barn, tractor, hay, horse, cat, goose, rooster, cow, duck, chick, sheep, pig, dog, goat.

Character Education: Discipline. Our goal is:       "I am quiet when listening to instructions."

Important information:

* Several engaging activities have been planned this week to expose children to books and reading. We will be having guest readers, reading buddies from other grades, we will be working on writing a class book and many other fun activities.

* All parents are invited to join their child during their Library period this week. Please see the following schedule to know when each class goes to Library. Please wait for your child at the library at 7:30a.m.

March 21-25

Dear Parents:                                          

This week we will cover the following:

Theme: Bugs

Concepts and skills: Letter Uu and Sorting. Over/under and more/less.
This quarter students are expected to write their names without copying them.

Vocabulary: bee, grasshopper, fly, spider, beetle, ant, butterfly, grass, ladybug, dragonfly, tree, flower, leaf, mosquito, caterpillar.

Character Education: Discipline. Our goal is: "I follow the classroom rules."

Important information:

* This Friday, March 25th is Parent-Teacher conference, please stop by your child's classroom and sign up for the conference. Pre-school students are not coming to school on this day. Sign up sheets will be posted on Tues. March 22nd.


* On Saturday March 26th from 8:30 PM - 9:30 PM everybody around the world will be voluntarily turning off the lights and unplugging electronic devices to SAVE THE EARTH. We invite you to do the same


* Book Week will be celebrated next week, March 28th-April1st. Different activities will take place. We are cordially inviting parents to join the children at the Library to come read a story to your child. Please go straight to the library. Please check the schedule below for information regarding day and time.

* This Thursday, March 17th, is St. Patrick's Day please have your child wear something green with the uniform on this day.

* This Friday, March 18th, is colors day. The cost is Lps.5.

* Don't forget to come to the Presentation for Pre-school Parents by Ana Maria Leon Gomez tomorrow at 11:30 in the Elementary Multipurpose Room. Refreshments will be served.

* Next Friday, March 25th is Parent-Teacher conference. There will be no school for Pre-school students on this day. Sign up sheets will be posted on Tuesday, March 22nd.* Please read the information below to order "FAMILY DAY T-SHIRTS". Orders should be placed by this Friday.

This week is evaluation week. Please refer to last week's post when reviewing with your child at home everyday.

* There will be no school this Friday. March 11th, due to our Spring Break holiday.

* There will be a presentation for Preschool Parents on Tuesday, March 15th from 11:30-1:00, the title of the presentation is "What can Parents do about Authority". Please read the information posted below and save the date.
